India!

It's so hard to keep up with this thing! But in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth I WILL. So I'll start with last Saturday. We all had loads of fun in the girls room with a big party featuring pizza and a game or two of Settlers of Catan. It was really great because our team was really starting to unite between the girls and boys because before that we weren't really allowed to socialize with them too much because of the culture. After our party one of our girls got really sick and was up all night throwing up and another girl was getting bronchitis, so we knew for sure the devil was feeling pretty threatened by our unity. But it's like chubawamba always says- "[we] get knocked down, but [we] get up again. You're never gonna keep [us] down".... hahah lame reference. So anyways, we all got together the next morning and had a very intense prayer session and talk about spiritual warfare. It was actually really good because we all came clean with each other and asked for forgiveness. So something good came out of it. The next day Kelsey and I went to our new slum school for the week and the kids were SO precious (duh). We sang songs like head, shoulders, knees, and toes (which they LOVED) and "He's got the whole world in His Hands". Tuesday we had a Christmas party at the coffeehouse with the university students. Let me tell you, I've never heard the song Feliz Navidad so much in my life as here in Delhi during the Xmas season. We played screaming vikings and the ninja game and ate cookies, so it was a pretty awesome party if you ask me. On Christmas Eve we had a big staff Christmas party on the roof until the wee hours of the night. These Indians sure know how to party. There was lots of dancing, singing, games, and food. LOTS and lots of food. SO much fun. What was really cool was that the neighbors heard us partying and looked in on our party and we just invited them over and they came over and partied the night away! Yay for new friends! It was the best Christmas eve I've ever had. Then we woke up Christmas day to the Christmas tree Maylee's fiancee sent (thanks Andy!) and opened cards from each other. Then we all went to the skype cafe and called family. After that, we were off to go have our Christmas picnic which included Subway sandwiches and a white elephant gift exchange. We also saw the Gateway of India on the way. Pretty sweet. That night we had our "Christmas dinner" at a nearby Indian restaurant and all I could think about was the movie a Christmas Story and how they went to a Chinese restaurant for christmas. Story of my life. ok thats that.
